Many people dream of the day when they get the keys to their own front door, anticipating the thrill of taking on hundreds of thousands of dollars of personal debt with the colossal accomplishment that will come. In June 1974, he was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. Per Kiyosaki, while still in the navy, enrolled in a two-year MBA program at the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 1973. After six months, Kiyosaki quit joining the Marine Corps, serving during the 1972 Vietnam War as a helicopter gunship pilot, where he awarded an Air Medal. Kiyosaki took a job with Standard Oil’s tanker office as a third mate after graduating from college. He attended New York’s the United States Merchant Marine Academy and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as a 2nd Lt. Naval College and the United States Academy of the Merchant Marine.
Inouye has won congressional appointments for the U.S. Most of Kiyosaki’s data come from speeches and talks he made about his life. In 1965, Kiyosaki attended and graduated from Hilo High School.
